Suzanne O'Sullivan
Dogsbody
has been owned and managed by Suzanne O'Sullivan since 1991.
She is highly motivated and regularly updates her grooming skills to
ensure that the services offered in Dogsbody are the best available.
Suzanne holds the Advanced Certificate in Dog Grooming (City and Guilds
7750). She has won the IPDGA's prestigious Groomer of the Year award 3
times; 1997,1999 and 2002. As a result of these wins, she was asked to join
the best of the world's groomers at the Oster Invitational Contest ,
Intergroom (USA) in 2002.
In recognition of Suzanne's expertise and experience City and Guilds awarded her the internationally recognised LCGI in 2007. That same year Suzanne became the first person in Ireland to gain the Higher Diploma in Dog Grooming, and joined the Guild Of Master Groomers. 2007 also brought a new award, and Suzanne became a Licentiate of the City and Guilds Institute in London. Suzanne now examines students regularly in Ireland and the UK at both 7750 and Higher Diploma levels.
In 2005 Suzanne was honoured to receive an invitation by the British Dog Groomers Association to judge Groomer of The Year at MyPetStop in Leeds. Suzanne finds training groomers very rewarding, and has helped many people to set up and successfully operate their own grooming businesses.
Suzanne has a keen interest in dog behaviour uses her knowledge in her day to day contact with the dogs she meets at Dogsbody. She holds levels 1,2 and 3 in Dog Behaviour (Northern Centre for Animal Behaviour, UK). Suzanne is also a Canine First Aid Responder.
Suzanne is accompanied to work each day by Inca her Dobermann, who supervises everybody.
Tom O'Mahony
Tom graduated from Sparsholt College with the BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management in 2006. He has been grooming since 2007. Tom gained a Merit placing in 2007 at the Oster Career Start Class at the IPDGA National Grooming Championships with a Shih Tzu and in 2008 was placed 2nd in the Handstripped Class with a Border Terrier. This meant Tom became Reserve Individual Entry that year. He is a Canine First Aid Responder and specialises in grooming rare breeds. Tom shares his life with Jez, his Boston Terrier and Copper his Pomeranian.
Niamh McMahon
Niamh began her grooming career early in 2009, having graduated from Dun
Laoghaire College of Further Education with a FETAC level 5 in Animal Health
Care.
She also has many years' practical experience in Animal Husbandry.
At 2009's IPDGA National Grooming Championships, Niamh gained 4th place in the Oster Career Start Class with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Niamh owns a Boxer called Jake and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Benny.
